Submissions

iPRES2010 will adopt a two-track scheme, focussing on research papers reporting on novel, previously unpublished work, as well as case studies and best practice reports. The conference programme will be designed in such as way as to encourage interaction between these areas, rather than seeing them as seperated fields. Furthermore, iPRES2010 will offer a set of tutorials on the Sunday preceding the conference, as well as focussed workshops to be organized following the main conference.
A selection of the outstanding papers from the iPRES2010 conference will be invited for submission to the International Journal of Digital Curation, a leading peer-reviewed journal of digital curation and preservation.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to

  • Theoretical, Formal and Conceptual Models of Information and Preservation
  • Trusted Repositories: Risk Analysis, Planning, Audit and Certification
  • Scalability and Automation
  • Metadata Issues for Preservation Processes
  • Business Models and Cost Estimation
  • Personal Archiving
  • Innovation in Digital Preservation: Novel Approaches and Scenarios
  • Training and Education
  • Domain-specific Challenges: Web, GIS, Primary/Scientific/Sensor Data, Governmental & Medical Records
  • Case Studies and Best Practice Reports: Systems, Workflows, Use Cases

Full Paper Track

iPRES2010 invites the submission of full research papers (no extended abstracts) reporting on novel, previously unpublished research work. In case of concurrent duplicate submissions, authors are requested to specify this fact in an addendum to the paper.
All papers will be reviewed by 3 members of the scientific programme committee, and will be evaluated with respect to the solidity of the research work presented and its novelty.
All papers accepted for inclusion in the iPRES programme will appear in the iPRES2010 proceedings in the section of the full paper track, and will be selected for oral or poster presentation according to the evaluation by the programme committe. (If authors prefer to give a poster rather than an oral presentation, or vice versa, or refuse one of the two presentations types, we encourage authors to specify this on a seperate page as an addendum to their submission.)

Submissions to iPRES 2010 will be handled in electronic format via the iPRES2010 electronic submission system. Templates for LaTeX and MS Word are available in the Information for Authors section of the iPRES2010 Homepage.

  • All submissions must be formatted according to the guidelines and templates available on the Information for Authors web page and submitted via the electronic submission system.
  • All submissions to the Full Paper Track of iPRES2010 will consist of full research paper submissions of up to 8 pages length for long papers and up to 6 pages length for short papers, addressing the main topics fo the conference.
  • Papers should include a 150-200 word abstract.
