Thema: Information Visualization
Ziele:
Informationsvisualisierung (InfoVis) befasst sich mit der
visuellen
Darstellung von abstrakten Daten, wie sie z.B. in der Medizin, aber auch
in
vielen anderen Bereichen vorkommen. Interaktive InfoVis Tools
ermöglichen es den UserInnen, das Datenmaterial zu untersuchen und
wichtige Informationen rasch zu erfassen.
Im Rahmen der Forschung zur
Informationsvisualisierung wurde
bereits eine beachtliche Anzahl an verschiedenen Methoden entwickelt. Ausgehend
von grundlegenden Publikationen und konkreten InfoVis Tools sollen sich
die Studierenden in die Problemfelder
und Potentiale dieser Methoden einarbeiten und durch eigenständige
Recherchen einen ersten Einblick in den Wissenschaftsbetrieb bekommen. Neben dem Thema Informationsvisualisierung
steht das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten im Vordergrund.
