Frequently Asked Questions
Do you collect all sites on the Web?
Only publicly accessible Web pages are archived. Furthermore, Web pages are not collected, if the owner of a site indicates that he does not want that (by using robot exclusion mechanisms).
Are you violating copyright laws?
No. Our collections consist of publicly available documents only. If the owner of a Web page still wishes his page to be removed, e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. In fact, the Austrian National Library is urged by the Austrian Government, to conduct this Pilot Project.
Who has access to the collections?
In this phase of the AOLA Project, no access can be granted to the archive. Access limited to researchers, historians and scholars in the scope of projects is intended, though.
