Address of the Conference Venue

The ICT-Eurasia and AsiaARES 2014 will take place at:

Level 3, Postgraduate Building
Udayana University
Sudirman Campus
Jalan PB. Sudirman, Denpasar

Although most of the taxi drivers in Bali understand English well, sometimes you may find a difficulty to communicate with them. In that case, it may be useful to show the following note to the taxi driver.

Getting to Bali

By airplane:

The nearest airport is Denpasar International Airport (DPS) also known as Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport. Airport information desk phone number: +62 361 751 011

Please find here a list of all domestic and international airlines, flying to Bali.

The distance from Denpasar Airport to the conference venue is about 16 kilometers depending on the route you decide to take.

Public transportation:

Bus: Buses from the airport are infrequent, so are therefore not recommended options.

Shuttle: A cheaper alternative to the taxis is a bemo (shared minibus), which can generally be found a short distance from the car park. In addition, many hotels operate courtesy shuttles.

Taxi: Taxis are available outside Arrivals and operate on a pre-paid voucher system. Vouchers are sold at the official taxi desk close to the airport exit. The fare to Kuta is about Rp50,000 and to Denpasar around Rp90,000. Journey times vary considerably depending on traffic. You can find an overview of taxi rates here.

Car Rental: Thrifty, Toyota, Hertz and local operators are represented at the airport. Car hire desks for these operators are located in both the International and Domestic Terminals.

Train: There is no train station in Denpasar, since there are actually no trains in Bali. But a travel agency in the Ubung bus terminal has an agreement with Kerata Api, the Indonesian train company.

You can buy so-called “train tickets” to and from Surabaya, including a bus (air-conditioned) to Banyuwangi, and the ferry between Gilimanuk and Ketapang, and then a train from Banyuwangi to Surabaya. Price: Rp 154,000 (weekend), Rp 139,000 (weekday) in bisnis (no a/c in the train), or Rp 169,000 in eksekutif (a/c). Those prices include a small commission of the travel agency. There are two services in each direction, each day:

  • 10:30PM from Surabaya arrival 5:25AM in Banyuwangi, arrival approx noon in Denpasar.
  • 9:15AM from Surabaya arrival 4:04PM in Banyuwangi, arrival approx 10:30PM in Denpasar.
  • 4PM from Denpasar, train departing 10:25PM from Banyuwangi, Arrival 5AM in Surabaya.
